Instagram launched an international test to cancel the number of likes
The BBC reports on the Instagram experiment: the social network began to hide the number of likes on posts in order to relieve the pressure that users experience. Testing is conducted in several countries: Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Ireland, Italy and Brazil.
Users from these countries see under the posts only the name of one person who liked the publication, and the inscription "and others":
You can see the number of likes under your own posts by clicking on the list of people under the post.
According to Mia Garlick, director of Facebook for Australia and New Zealand, the purpose of testing the innovation is to relieve users of the pressure of approval on social networks: so that people are more engaged in what they like, share it and do not focus on likes.
At the beginning of the launch of the test in Canada, the head of Instagram, Adam Mossery, said that the main task of the experiment was to minimize the stress of user competition for the number of likes, so that they could spend more time with loved ones.
It is separately noted that testing will not affect the work of business accounts, all activity is considered and analyzed.
